Tarah Probst endorsed by Statewide LGBTQ Organization Equality Pennsylvania

Stroudsburg, PA (April 23, 2018) – Equality Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth’s leading LGBTQ advocacy organization has endorsed Tarah Probst for State representative in the 40th Senatorial District.

“I am absolutely thrilled to receive the endorsement of Equality Pennsylvania. LGBTQ individuals and families across are frequently subject to discrimination, violence, and inequality,” said Probst. “I look forward to continuing the fight for fairness in Pennsylvania and would join the LGBT Equality Caucus and stand with the LGBTQ community every day.”

Pennsylvania remains the only state in the Northeastern United States to permit discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations for LGBTQ individuals and families.

In 2017, Stroudsburg Mayor Tarah Probst was the first leader in Monroe County to sign into ordinance The Human Relations Act. This ordinance protects the rights of the LGBTQ community and all residents, regardless of ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.

“Tarah has pledged to work with her colleagues to pass legislation and advocate for fairness, equality, equity, and justice,” said John Dawe, Interim Executive Director of Equality Pennsylvania. “These are the core values of Equality Pennsylvania and we are excited to stand behind a candidate who shares them.”
